Betta Fish QuestionsCategory: General Betta Questionscould-broken-theremometers-kill-crowntail-bettas

This is a sad question but I have to ask. I had a crowntail betta that had white spots on his face, he jerked a lot when he swam and he barely ate… Four days after I got him he passed… Later I found out my glass thermometer was cracked. I was curious if that could have been the cause of his death. Since then I have gotten an elephant ear betta with a digital thermometer and he has been doing amazing! He is in the same tank as the crowntail was in before he died (yes I cleaned the tank before putting the new betta in it). He is healthy and very active, his tank never goes above or below 80° F. He seems happy. What are the signs of a happy betta? Sometimes he can be hard to read..
